Who we are
This page and the free area-check form are operated by Dean Keating. If you have any question about your information, email deanokeating@gmail.com.
What we collect
When you apply for a free area check, we collect what you type into the form:
- your name and business name
- your trade, typical job value, the towns you want and how much extra work you could take on
- your WhatsApp number, and your email address and current website if you give them
- anything else you choose to tell us
We also record which advert or link brought you to the page (for example a campaign tag in the link, or the name of the site you came from), so we know which of our videos and adverts are useful. The page logs anonymous steps such as “form started” or “video played” to see where people drop off. These logs don’t contain your form answers, and this page doesn’t set advertising or analytics cookies.
What we do with it
- Research your trade and towns. We look at public search data for the towns you list — for example what people search for and which web addresses are available — to judge whether local sites would suit your business.
- Contact you on WhatsApp.We send your area results to the WhatsApp number you give us and may follow up there about the service. You can tell us to stop at any time by replying “stop” or emailing us, and we will.
- Emailyou, if you gave us an address and it’s easier for you.
We use your details on the basis that you asked us to check your area and agreed to be contacted about it (your consent), and to take steps you’ve asked for before any agreement. We don’t sell your details or pass them to other firms.
Who handles it for us
We use a small number of service providers to run the form: Vercel (hosting the page and storing your application), Resend (delivering the application to our inbox by email) and WhatsApp (to message you). They only process your details to provide that service to us. Some of these providers may process data outside the UK, under the safeguards the law requires.
How long we keep it
If we don’t end up working together, we delete your application within 12 months of your last contact with us, or sooner if you ask. If we do work together, we keep what we need to run the service.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to us using it. Email deanokeating@gmail.com. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
